You don’t have to be a professional photographer or stylist to show instagram worthy details of your home. A helpful tip is to concentrate on specific corners and sections, so you don’t get overwhelmed with the whole space. Design magazines and books have plenty of cues of how to style spaces if you only take a closer look and notice the separate elements. Notice how a dining space is made warmer and lived in with accessories like a baguette freshly cut on a cutting board, perhaps a glass of wine sitting nearby. Or a living room corner with an open book that sits with reading glasses on top, or shoes laying on the carpet, illustrating the relief of coming home after a long day at work. Fresh flowers are always a perfect touch, keep the palette neutral, white especially works well so it simply complements the various decor elements without being the sole focus. All of these show a personal touch in the picture, and make a space seem warmer and more lived in. Take inspiration from the following photos and try this in your own space. It’s fun to share your interior design skills on your social media, and these few little tips can take you from a regular photo to truly capturing a moment and mood.
